They simply move onto the next project (besides any marketing stuffs). Not underscoring the work that goes into making a movie like Endgame, but they don't have to keep working on the movie after it's out in theaters. They film a movie, do editing and post-processing, and that's essentially their end of it. It makes no sense that game studios need more money when the price of a $60 game seems to be doing just fine. The production company of a movie also doesn't have to perform constant upkeep with the viewers after they've seen the movie.

Avengers Endgame cost around $350 million to make and $150 million to market worldwide while GTA V cost $265 million. EndGame made over $1billion and that was considered a massive accomplishment, but GTAV made $6 billion in revenue. GTA V has sold 110 million copies while Avengers EndGame had 100 million people went to see it. The reason I bring up movies is because they generally cost the same as making a game but in the end you pay $60 for a game while a Blu-Ray costs $25. I didn't write the text on the bottom which is partly irrelevant to our conversation but it's a valid comparison lol. What is wrong is the lack of content that actual come with them and the ridiculous price for such a blatant ripoff from most companies. There is nothing wrong with DLC, expansions, whatever. Regardless I didn't even buy witcher 3 until the were both already released so with goty I got them both free, in total a complete game xD since we're strawmaning. B&W was 20+ and we're completely ignoring replay value here.Įven without the DLC it's a complete story. It wasn't just a cash grab it adds a lot new mechanics crafting armor and zones / story. And it was absolutely a complete game until hearts and stone + blood & wine expanded on it.

You can call blood and wind and hearts of stone expansions all you want, they are still DLC in the idea that it wasn't a "complete game".If you think they just another DLC akin to the trash other companies dish out for premium price then you're wrong and haven't played it. Even CDPR games have had DLC with a cost.
